Welcome to Pam's Busy Beaks Aviary.
I run a small Hobby aviary in my home In Saint John NB. Canada. 30% Non - Refundable deposit is required to hold a baby.
Being on the Reservation list does not guarantee you a bird until a deposit is made!
As time passes people change their mind. Having said that my wait lists do not seem to work. If you see on my Facebook page that I have babies and we have previously been speaking I would advise you reach out to me. Those that are actively interested will be considered first.
I do not request deposit til the babies are about 2 -4 wks of age. Then you are given 24 hours to have deposit in unless we have discussed differently
If you decide somewhere through the process once you have made your depost ,if you changed your mind you forfeit your 30% deposit.
Your more than welcome to make deposits on your baby up to the pick up day.
If I have to hold your baby here longer than its release day I will charge $10. per every day baby is here. Unless we have discussed them needing to be here longer. Some exceptions are made.
-I clip all wings before babies leave to allow continued training and bonding. These feathers grow back within the first few months. Babies can still fly somewhat that does not mean you can take them out of doors without a harness on.
-The Price of DNA INCLUDED in my prices providing they are not genetically paired that I will know their sex.
Dna & Hatch certificate & a small care package "Goodie-bag" consisting of small amount of pellets, seed and Mash that they are accustom to.
Keeping my breeding small allows me to give 100% to my birds and their babies. My Breeders all have names & toys and not treated like baby machines.
-They are fed a diet of Pellets ( Roudybush Maintenance & Tropican & Tropimix ) , Mash, Veggies . I do not feed my birds seed. The only seed they receive is in the Tropimix (not in shells) They also have an alternate mix of Roudybush Maintence and Roudybush California Blend. Most of my birds are still considered Apartment birds. Keeping in mind all birds can be loud at times and can be destructive.
-Babies are handled from the age of 7 days old I wait until all babies are hatched before I start handling them They learn loving gentle human contact from their very wee beginnings. I hand feed babies generally later than most aviaries allowing them to be with their parents a bit longer. Generally allowing to do that they wean quicker but have the best of both worlds hand fed hand tamed and raised for 2-3 wks by their parents. Although I have had to intervene and feed as early as 1 day old.
-If you want to see updated photos of babies as they grow join my facebook page Pam's Busy Beaks.
I try to answer any and all your questions. If I do not know an answer I will find the answer for you. Please enjoy my page. I look forward to hearing from you.
